Home Sweet Home

I've had several requests to update! I apologize, things have been a little crazy and I'm trying to get through spring parent teacher conferences, so hopefully soon things will calm down!

Although we don't have any new wedding updates, we do have some very exciting news to share with everyone! We bought our first home!!! We are so excited, overwhelmed, nervous, etc. It was such a fun experience searching for a home! We are really in the perfect situation not having to sell, and with the market being the way it is we think we found a wonderful deal! We decided to go through a company called Veridian homes here in Madison. Our house is brand new! We will have to go into the Veridian design studio to pick our carpet and then off to American to choose our appliances. The cabinets and flooring were already in the house when we saw it, but luckily Andy and I both loved them! It is a two bedroom/two bath ranch with a two car garage and unfinished basement. The basement was a huge selling point for us, as it has the capability of adding another bedroom, living room and/or office or as Andy says, "His weightroom!" The yard was also another huge bonus, as we're in a subdivision, but our lot faces a wooded area that makes it farely private. It's the perfect starter home for us! We're both so excited to get going with the details. Our closing date ironically falls on Andy's 26th birthday, on  March 25th!  If you would like to check out the floor plan for our new place, go to:

We have the two bedroom/first floor laundry option.
We're so happy and excited to share our news! I'm hoping to get back this weekend to take some pictures to share with everyone....of course we forgot the camera both times we saw the house!

On the wedding note, we have engagement pictures scheduled for March 21st! That's about all for the wedding plans for now! :)

I hope to update more soon, but for now must get back to what seems like an endless amount of report cards!!!

Andrew just told me, "I know this may not sound so appealing 10 years from now, but I can't wait to do yard work!!!!"

I'm holding him to that comment! :)

10 Months to Go!

10 Months until the big day! That seems so long right now and the more planning I do the more excited I get! I've put the planning on stand still for a while just to help my focus stay with my 3rd graders and school. Also because I know that once fall rolls around it is going to be very hard to get through the beginning of the school year! For the most part we have the major things set and deposits down.

I was home a few weeks ago and was able to talk to the Upfront and met the company that would be helping us choose linens and place settings. I also met the baker that, after talking to Andy, we decided to go with. He used to bake for Gopher's in Marquette, but now has his own place within the Landmark. Andy also called and blocked rooms at the Landmark and Ramada. He has been very helpful in the planning so far!

We're still searching for music for the wedding, I'm really hoping to find a band, but we'll see if we can find someone we like that will travel to the U.P. My brother in-law Colin knows of a great cover band in the Green Bay area that him and Stacey are friends with, so I'm crossing my fingers that we'll like them, and they'll travel.

I'm about 90% sure I found my dress! It was the very first dress I tried on it's absolutely beautiful! My 10% uncertainty lies behind the fact that

A. I'm extremely indecisive and
B.  I still have plenty of time to find a dress.

I am still going to look around, but have a feeling my mind will head back to the Maggie Sottero dress!

I still need to choose my bridesmaids dresses, I am set on black for the color, but not sure on the style yet. My goal is to have my dress and the bridesmaid dresses finalized by my spring break!

I know more planning will be coming along here fast and furious! I hope to keep you all updated during this exciting time! If you have a chance check out how adorable my niece is by looking at Stacey and Colin's page, titled Ellie Ruth! I was originally planning to visit this weekend, but the stomach flu prevented that from happening! Hopefully next weekend will work out and I'll have more news and pictures to share!

We're official bloggers!!!

OK! Stacey and all her friends are bloggers and I wanted to join in on the fun, so I gave in! I'll see how long I can keep up and update you all on our life and wedding planning. Although I have a lot to share about the big day, another major event in the family is consuming my time right now! I am now a very proud Auntie to Stacey and Colin's beautiful baby girl Ellie!!! I was able to visit for a day last weekend and meet my new little love bug! I can't wait to deck her out in pink, pink, pink! Congrats Stacey, Colin and Ellie! I can't wait to see you all again soon!

I had another snow day today! Wahoo! Two Wednesday's in the row! Madison was hit with over 18" of snow. It's nothing new for Andy and I, growing up in the U.P., but people down here, that's another story! Let's just say there were cars every 50 feet stuck in the ditch, side of the road, etc. The last two weeks have been nice with the mid week break, and I've noticed such a difference in my students when they get a little break too! The winter months are hard to teach, and the kids hate being stuck inside. Spring can't come soon enough!

I'll post some more wedding details soon! And of course pictures of Ellie!!! For now, check out our Knot Wedding page:

Wedding Bells is saying hello to the wonderful world of blogging!!!
